(October 4, 2007) Synology today announced the beta program for the new Data Replicator: Synology Data Replicator 3 (DR 3). Developed based on Synology Data Replicator II (DR II), DR 3 provides more convenience and flexibility in backup task implementation. New features and enhancements include locked-files backup, unrestricted backup targets support, e-mail notification, and multilingual user interface: Swedish, Danish, and Norwegian.

Data Replicator is a Windows based backup utility. It allowed PC user to back up desktop data automatically to Synology Products also any accessible location, including attached drive or network drive. It supports Immediate backup, Schedule backup, and Synchronization. Any monitored file will be saved in the target as a new version upon file change. In addition, it has a convenient shortcut for users to backup Outlook, Outlook Express, and Windows Mail. PC backup is now with more freedom.

J'ai du mal à comprendre pourquoi ils dépensent de l'argent pour développer ce genre d'applis ...

Il y en a des gratuites qui offrent mille fois plus de possibilités que ce fameux data replicator ...

Je pense qu'ils livrent là un produit complet pour ceux qui ne veulent pas chercher sur internet ou ne veulent pas se poser la question des droits utilisables ou non en milieu professionnel ou autre...

Finalement, moi je trouve ça plutôt bien, au boulot, j'ai d'autres chats à fouetter qu'à aller voir à droite à gauche, un produit complet est plus simple a implémenter et à suivre surtout si je dois partir, un jour lointain j'espère, vers d'autres horizons....

Quoiqu'il en soit, une modif que j'attends dans ce cette version est la prise en compte de l'adresse d'un syno sur un autre réseau (routé).
