Here is a new thirty-something in the area, owner of a Synology DS418j NAS for almost two years, I use it mainly as a remote backup medium, being very rarely at home. Before that I was on Windows Home Server, a system no longer supported since August 2013, I was a roadrunner email bit late in taking the plunge 🙂 Under DSM 6.2.3 to date, apart from Cloud Sync and Plex Media Server may additional services run. A simple configuration with 4 hard drives (2 * 2TB + 2 * 4TB) in one SHR volume.
