Je n’ai pas fait la mise à jour, car le mode CMS permet permettait de partager deux licences de mon ancien NAS au niveau des caméras. La mise à jour n’est pas proposée sur DSM6 et donc le partage des licences deviendrait impossible comme me l’a confirmé le support. Thank you for sharing your concerns. We understand that the existing DSM 6 NAS remains functional and that losing access to its built-in licenses from the newer CMS environment may discourage you from upgrading Surveillance Station on your DSM 7 server. To clarify, the built-in licenses on the DSM 6 NAS will not expire or become invalid. They will remain available for use on the NAS with which they were originally included. However, built-in licenses are tied to their original Synology NAS and cannot be transferred or migrated to another server. They can only be managed centrally from another server while both systems remain in a compatible Surveillance Station CMS structure. Surveillance Station 9.3 requires DSM 7.0-41890 or later. In addition, a CMS host and its recording servers must use the same major and minor Surveillance Station version. Therefore, a Surveillance Station 9.3 CMS host cannot manage a recording server that remains on Surveillance Station 9.2.x under DSM 6. As a result, there is currently no supported method for sharing the DSM 6 NAS's built-in licenses with a Surveillance Station 9.3 CMS environment. The available options depend on whether the older NAS supports DSM 7: If the NAS supports DSM 7, we recommend reviewing its compatibility and updating it to DSM 7, followed by updating all servers in the CMS structure to Surveillance Station 9.3. This allows the NAS to remain in the CMS environment while keeping the systems on supported software versions. If the NAS cannot be updated to DSM 7, you may keep the current CMS environment on Surveillance Station 9.2.x to continue managing its built-in licenses centrally. Alternatively, you may update the DSM 7 server to Surveillance Station 9.3 and operate the DSM 6 NAS separately. Its built-in licenses will remain usable locally on that NAS, but they will no longer be available to the Surveillance Station 9.3 CMS host. Please also note that separately purchased Surveillance Device License Pack licenses are different from built-in licenses and can be transferred between supported Synology servers after being properly removed from the original server. We understand that these options may not fully address your concern about continuing to use the existing built-in licenses within a newer CMS environment. Your feedback and request for a mechanism that would preserve this usage have been documented in this case.
