Mpc Christmas Shopping List 2007! Top5...?

Nos amis Belges de chez MPC ont placé 4ème le Synology DS-207+ dans leur liste de noël.

Thank to Synology recently adding NFS support it now can be used for H.264 streaming as well which is better over NFS. With the latest units matching the speed of the fastest NAS servers ever tested at MPC and a reasonable cost, it had to make the TOP 5. Now even it's a little plastic device, white (which I personally would have loved seeing in black), has many sections it can still improve upon, it's one of those things with a good balance between convenience, performance, abilities and budget.

Synology almost lost the run for the TOP List with missing NFS support, so badly needed for "improved" streaming support for media players. thanks to adding NFS (even though not user friendly at the moment which still should be addressed), the Synology is back in range of one budget friendly single disk / dual disk NAS server. The Synology + series outperforms many other NAS devices on the market and is possible to upgrade with community tools that integrate with about any media device out there. A true companion for the serious media enthusiast. (Infrant did not make the selection being too expensive, but is equally a top choice, so is Thecus. Budget wise however, the Synology won the battle)

Bonsoir,

J’allais dire, que quatrième ???

Et puis, j’ai vu qu’ils avaient mis un DVICO en seconde place.

Donc. Je ne râlerais pas……pour l’instant ! :D

J’aurais bien vu ces 2 produits ex éco en first ! :good:

A+

Fred.
